Based in Hamilton, Farmgate was founded to help farmers deter theft and monitor remote sites more effectively. But sourcing components for their custom system turned out to be anything but straightforward.

An Unusual Beginning

‍Our partnership began in a slightly unconventional way — solving a payment dispute in China. While outside the usual sourcing remit, our team tracked down the missing funds and built trust from the get-go. That early assist laid the foundation for a deeper collaboration.

Full-Service Sourcing for Tech Startups

‍Farmgate opted for our Epic Suite — an end-to-end sourcing service designed for startups looking to scale. We helped them draft product specifications, identify and verify suppliers, and arrange logistics. Within two months, they had two containers shipped with 71 unique components — including solar panels, battery packs, sensors, and cameras.

Our boots-on-the-ground team in China ensured production oversight, conducted quality checks, and navigated seasonal challenges like Chinese New Year.
